“I was born in Casalserugo, rural town in the province of Padova where I grew up. My mother is from Veneto and my father from Puglia; two lands quite far from each other but still so similar. These two lands instilled me with the attention to the peasant world and a special bond with its traditions rooted in the territory. From here my artistic research generates taking shape for the first time in a short film exploring the rituals of an old couple in preparation to the procession called Rogazioni. It is aimed to ask God for protection for the land and the crops. The everyday life of the two protagonists is intertwined with the recollection of the devastating floods that stroke their land twice during their lives.”
